TV Overnights: BBC One’s Exile finishes on 4.4m viewers

BBC One’s new prime time drama Exile finished on a high of 4.4 million viewers to claim the all-important peak-hour ratings last night.

The third and final episode of the drama starring John Simm and Jim Broadbent attracted over 4.2 million average viewers and a 17.3% audience share during the 9pm to 10pm slot.

The BBC One series beat ITV1 to the top spot. The second and final part of the broadcaster’s new thriller Case Sensitive settled on a lower 3.8 million average viewers and a 15.6% audience share during the peak-slot.

At the same time, Channel 4’s popular reality series The Secret Millionaire pulled in 2.3 million average viewers and a 9.4% share, while 5’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation picked up 1.9 million viewers and a 7.9% share.

On BBC Two, The Quite Remarkable David Coleman – a tribute to the former TV presenter – achieved an average audience of 1.4 million viewers and a 6% share.

In the pre-watershed slot, BBC One’s Eastenders peaked with 8.9 million viewers, while ITV1’s Emmerdale banked six million viewers.
