MediaTel’s new website, Media Village, has received a Chartshow badge of honour and is featured in Emap’s weekly Internet Chart Show (w/c 13/6/96). The chart, originally designed for Channel Cyberia, can be found on two sites on the Net (http://www.emap.com/chartshow/top8.htm and http://channel.cyberiacafe.net) and features the top ten websites of the corresponding week.
Placed at number 8, the “Chartmaker” said: “If you enjoy your privacy then this is one community where you don’t want to live. Details of all the movers and shakers in the media world, both online and off, are assembled here as another resource designed to keep themselves in the know. If you enter the Media Village pub just remember the saying ‘Loose Lips Sinks Ships,’ especially after a pint or two.”
Launched at the beginning of June, response to the Media Village has been overwhelming and the award is a tribute to those who have put the extra effort into the design and maintenance of the site. General conversation can be made in the Media Pub; Email addresses may be left in the Post Office; media publications can be bought in the General Store; or general careers advice may be sought in the Careers Office.
