Kleenex And IBM In Sponsorship Deals

Kleenex has signed as sponsor to Carlton and Central Television’s new service, “The Pollen Count”. The 25 second bulletin with seven second front and end credits goes out three times a day, around the weather or news, for the next six weeks.

As well as informing viewers of the pollen count each day and providing a forecast for the following day, there is a page on Carlton Text, p635, also sponsored by Kleenex, which gives tips on hay fever and its avoidance.

IBM has announced sponsorship of the first-ever global television series; Scan, focusing on how technology is changing people’s lives around the world, is a weekly half -hour magazine programme. It will be broadcast from September 12th 1996 on CNBC in the United States, and NBC’s international programming services around the world including NBC Super Channel in Europe; reaching a potential audience of more than 120 million households in 75 countries.
