ITV Player to be launched on Android devices
ITV has announced that its catch-up service, ITV Player, is to be available on Android devices.
This is ITV’s first foray into mobile devices, and leaves Apple owners still waiting for the service to be available on their handsets.
The on demand portal will be free via the Android marketplace and will allow users unlimited streaming over WiFi from ITV 1, 2, 3 and 4 on all ITV-owned content (e.g. Coronation Street and Britain’s Got Talent) for 7 days post transmission.
It is also planning to launch a version for Android Honeycomb tablets.
