Radio Authority Upholds Complaints
The Radio Authority’s Quarterly Bulletin (23 July) had 23 out of 66 programming complaints upheld. 76 complaints were received regarding advertising and sponsorship with 17 upheld.
2CR (Bournemouth), Choice FM (Birmingham) and Fortune 1458 (Manchester) were fined £1,000 for breaching their Promises of Performance. 96.6 Classic Hits (St Albans and Watford) was fined £3,000 for failing, on three separate occasions, to supply the Authority with tapes of its output. Scot FM (Central Scotland) was fined £3,000 for breaching the Broadcasting Act 1990.
