The Apprentice final topped the most-viewed programmes listings in July with 10.2 million viewers. The popular Alan Sugar series also stole second place in the Top Programmes listings (the penultimate show claimed 9.3 million viewers on 13 July).
The BBC dominated the Top 10 – featuring eight times with New Tricks, Luther, Torchwood: Miracle Day, Casualty, Wimbledon 2011: Nadal v Murray and BBC Two’s Top Gear (which came in at number 10 with just over 6 million viewers).
ITV1 only entered the Top 10 twice with new drama Scott & Bailey, starring Suranne Jones, and Law & Order: UK (which attracted almost 7.2 and 6.8 million viewers respectively).
Overall, BBC claimed 16 of the Top 20 spots, with dramas proving particularly popular among viewers, though programmes in the Factual category also make up a large part of the list.
ITV1 only featured three times (in June it featured seven times) – the third and final programme to reach the Top 20 was The Royal with 5.1 million viewers.
