Radio Sales Houses Join Forces For World Cup

Emap On Air, Capital Advertising, GWR Group and Scottish and Irish Radio Sales have joined forces to launch the biggest ever network sponsorship opportunity across UK commercial radio.

The £2 million initiative to sponsor the ILR network’s coverage of World Cup France ’98 brings the sales houses together for the first time since they were formed earlier this year. There will be one point of contact for access to all World Cup coverage on ILR, which will run across 76 stations with a weekly reach estimated to be 36% of the UK population.

Sponsorship opportunities will include promotions across FM station breakfast shows, World Cup bulletins and live match commentary. It is hoped that by working together the sales houses can challenge other national media owners head to head rather then competing amongst themselves.
