Channel 5 To Split Advertising Sales Into Regions

Channel 5 is planning to split its currently national sales team into four regional operations in order to target a wider brand base. The new structure will follow the framework of the existing regional ITV companies which roughly break into the four areas of London, the North, Scotland and the rest of the country. The channel claims it will boost its ad revenue by as much as 10 per cent.

Channel 5 is hoping to implement the new sales division by November although it is not absolutely finalised. The channel has also announced that it has secured the rights to the Scotland v Latvia World Cup qualifying game this Saturday and is looking for a sponsor.
