Emmerdale’s hour long episode attracted a peak of 7.5 million viewers in the first fifteen minutes of the 7pm show, averaging 7.4 million viewers for ITV.
The hour long soap held 32% of the audience share on ITV1 and ITV1HD as Amy’s baby was found abandoned in a phone box in the village.
Following with more success was Coronation Street at 8pm, averaging 8 million viewers across both ITV1 and the HD channel.
I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! averaged just under 8 million viewers with 7.9 million throughout the hour and a half show, but peaked with the highest ratings of the night with 8.8 million viewers and 34% of the audience share at 9pm.
Meanwhile, over on BBC One, The Manor Reborn picked up 3.1 million viewers for its second episode at 9pm, followed by the BBC News at 10 which attracted an average of 4.1 million viewers and 20% of the audience share.
Over on BBC Two, Masterchef: The Professionals attracted a healthy 2.7 million viewers in its 8pm slot as the remaining six contestants faced the quarter-final challenge.
This was followed by a drop in figures for comedies Rev, which aired at 9pm and averaged 1.2 million viewers compared to 1.3 million the previous week. At 10pm Ricky Gervais’ new comedy Life’s Too Short dropped 200,000 viewers from the previous week averaging 1 million views.
Over on Channel 4 at 9pm the second episode in the new series Living with the Amish, in which a group of teenagers join Amish communities to learn about their way of life, attracted 1.5 million viewers.
Meanwhile The Mentalist picked up 1.3 million viewers for Channel 5 in the peak 9pm slot.
