YouView has spent close to £20m in nine months

YouView, the long-awaited connected TV service from partners including ITV, BT and TalkTalk, has spent almost £20 million in its first nine months of operation and paid more than £1 million to staff.

The first Companies House filing for YouView shows that £14.5 million has been spent on “cost of sales” (developing the product), £5.2 million on “administrative expenses” and £1.1 million on staff (15 employees).

YouView received £20.2 million from shareholders in the period from 8 July 2010 to 31 March 2011.
