LOVEFiLM streaming overtakes DVDs

The number of films and TV series being streamed via LOVEFiLM’s online service has overtaken the number of DVDs, Blu-rays and games being rented by the service.

The number of films and TV episodes being watched on internet connected devices have exceeded the number of DVDs, Blu-rays and Games rented by over 20% so far this year, the company said. This is an increase of over 400% on the same period last year.

Although the company’s DVD rental service is still up 25% year on year.

The company passed the two million subscriber mark in Europe at the start of this year.
