BBC Magazines Launch BBC Family Life
BBC Family Life, which will launch on 23 October, is intended to fill what publishing director Gillian Laskier views as a gap in the market. It is aimed to appeal to ABC1 women who have primary school age children who need a magazine which has relevance to their lives. It will centre on family-related topics including relationships, education, leisure activities and consumer advice.
Editor Anita Bevan feels that educated women who have young families need a magazine that acknowledges their situation. It will be priced £1.95 and has an accompanying £1m promotional campaign. Emap Elan and NatMags plan to launch similar titles next year.
