Extra Ad Minutage To Be Released

There will be an increase in advertising minutage over the coming months due to the number of ad breaks which have been cancelled on commercial television during the coverage of Princess Diana’s death.

Under the ITC guidelines, sales houses are allowed to make up the ad time that had to be dropped during special programming over the next couple of months. This cannot be done immediately as the extra minutage needs to be released by the ITC and this will take some time to do as the “dropped” ads have to go out in the same daypart.
