Ikea TV review: ‘Worse than assembling 100 bookshelves at once’

In April, Newsline heard that Ikea was planning to launch a new furniture range with an integrated fully functioning smart TV and sound system called UPPLEVA.

It is not available here or in the US but it launched in Stockholm, Milan, Paris, Gdansk and Berlin this month and the reviews are in – it is really bad.

The Uppleva is fine as furniture – an LCD TV with typically minimalist drawers and a stand – but a piece of junk as everything else, say the Swedish tech gurus at M3. Apparently, the TV’s picture quality is bad: poor black levels, muddy colors and a noisy image.
