Dutch Health Minister Els Borst is reported to have written to the UK Health Minister, Frank Dobson, seeking information on the UK’s approach to the Commission’s tobacco advertising proposals at the forthcoming Health Council on 5 June. The UK now seems unlikely to endorse the proposals immediately, following the announcement that it will publish a white paper on measures to reduce smoking.
