Radio Licences Up For Grabs

Radio Licences Up For Grabs

The Radio Authority is advertising a new ILR FM licence to serve part of South-East London. Coverage will be contained primarily within the Boroughs of Lewisham and Bromley and parts of Southwark. It will not be possible, within the frequency resources available to serve all of this area. It is up to applicants to indicate which part of the wider area they wish to cover.

The Authority is also advertising a new licence to serve parts of Staffordshire. The licence is being offered for the provision of a service to be broadcast using two frequencies on the FM waveband.

Both these licences are for a period of eight years. When the Authority considers the applications it will be looking at how they propose to cater for the tastes and interests of the local audience.
