VivaKi’s Bertozzi kicks off new role at SMG

VivaKi’s Marco Bertozzi has joined Starcom Mediavest Group in a new global leadership role.

Bertozzi, who was president, global clients at Publicis Groupe’s programmatic arm, is now CEO of SMG’s global performance marketing capability.

In a statement, SMG said he will be responsible for concentrating the agency’s global capability in performance, social and search into one overall practice with a remit to “galvanise and grow” next-generation performance marketing capability globally.

Bertozzi will be based in London and will report to John Sheehy, president of global operations.

The news comes as SMG makes two senior promotions alongside the appointment of a new business director.

Eva Grimmett has been promoted from her current role as head of strategy, Starcom, to managing partner, strategy and will join the agency’s London operations team.

On the Mediavest side of the business, Rob Hocknell, currently strategy director, has stepped up to take on the role of head of strategy.

Additionally, SMG has appointed MediaSense’s Mu Ali to the role of business development director for the UK.

All four appointments take place with immediate effect.
