Facebook’s now infamous metrics blunder, which saw the social media platform miscalculate video views on its site, undoubtedly undermined trust and caused a wave of anger alongside calls for better transparency.

Now independent measurement companies are finally getting under the hood and evaluating different characteristics of campaigns being delivered on the large online platforms.
