Sky Sports adds 10 new channels

From 18 July, Sky Sports is expanding its service with 10 new channels – including dedicated channels for Premier League football, cricket, golf and Formula One – at no extra cost. Customers will be able to join for as little as 60p a day.

Another two channels – Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Arena – will also offer rugby union, rugby league, boxing, netball, darts, NFL, tennis, WWE and GAA, while the Sky Sports Main Event channel will host the biggest events in one place.

Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix will be available to all Sky customers.

“We’re dedicating channels to some of our biggest sports, launching a new way to watch the best live action,” said Barney Francis, managing director of Sky Sports.

“Sky Sports is giving customers even more choice and channels at the same price for another 12 months, while opening up new ways for sports fans to join.”

Existing customers will receive the new Sky Sports package automatically and the new channels will replace the existing line-up, with the current £27.50 monthly cost frozen for the next 12 months.

Sky will also offer individual packages for fans not looking to commit to all 10 channels – with one sports channel package available for £18 per month, two for £22 and three for £26.

The full range of digital platforms are also being brought together onto one Sky Sports app to make it easier for customers to watch content on-the-go.

Stephen van Rooyen, chief executive of Sky UK and Ireland, added: “Sport has been a major part of Sky for 26 years and we’re improving our service even further, super-serving existing customers and providing flexibility to a whole new generation of sports fans.”
