ABC Online: Independent traffic down -10%
Digital-only newsbrand the Independent saw traffic to its website dip -10.1% in September – a loss of more than 660,200 unique daily browsers compared with the previous month.
However, it is still the third most-popular news website with 5.9 million visitors a day.
Trinity Mirror’s regional and digital portfolios also recorded declines in traffic over the month – down -7.4% and -5.8%, respectively – while traffic to the Evening Standard’s website was down -5.1%.
MailOnline and Metro, however, managed to draw in a small amount of extra traffic – with a 0.65% increase taking MailOnline’s audience to almost 14.2 million, and a 1.8% increase boosting Metro’s online audience by 41,700.
