UKOM, the online audience measurement body, has announced the appointment of Iain Jacob as its new chair.
Jacob takes up the post on March 31 2019, succeeding Douglas McArthur who is stepping down after nine years in the role.
Jacob recently left his role as chief executive at Publicis Media EMEA. During his time within the group he led Starcom Mediavest across EMEA, Australia and Canada. He most recently oversaw the unification of all Publicis Groupe’s media agencies in a new operating unit, Publicis Media EMEA.
“Douglas has been an inspiring and energetic chair. His strong leadership and commitment to ISBA joining the UKOM board have been hallmarks of his chairmanship,” said Phil Smith, director general of ISBA.
“He hands over a well-established UKOM to Iain Jacob who brings world-class business leadership and a topical insight into the opportunities and challenges ahead.”
Commenting on his appointment, Jacob said: “The brief for UKOM under CEO Ian Dowds is an exciting one. I am thrilled to have been invited to contribute to its purpose, vision and strategy at a time when measurement is at the heart of trust. I am looking forward to working with Ian and the team towards UKOM’s next phase.”
