Cologne-based online ad-filtering tech company Eyeo has acquired Canadian adblock revenue recovery company Blockthrough.
Blockthrough partners with ad-block software companies to give users the option to opt-in to ads deemed acceptable by the independent Acceptable Ads Committee.
Blockthrough CEO Marty Krátký-Katz previously told The Media Leader that he foresees the future of media as one in which there’s a better balance between user experience and monetization for publishers and advertisers.
Eyeo’s technology powers some of the largest existing adblockers, like AdBlock and Adblock Plus. It reports having 250 million global ad-filtering users who consent to receive Acceptable Ads.
