Hachette Filipacchi Restructures Marketing Team

Hachette Filipacchi has announced a series of promotions and appointments to its marketing department in a move that affects the company’s portfolio of women’s, teen and soap titles.

Hachette has replaced the roles of product managers, Cherie Chambers and Amanda Fry, who now become brand managers in charge of two titles each, a move which should create stronger branding opportunities. In addition, three marketing executives have been appointed to take responsibility for one title each.

The three executives will work closely with the company’s head of marketing, Liz Settle, who assumes full responsibility in her new capacity as head of strategic marketing. The team will also liase with Hachette’s PR and circulation divisions.

Commenting on the reshuffle, Hachette Filipacchi’s marketing director, Simon Bell said: “The new structure is designed to improve the service that the Marketing department provides to Hachette’s brands and to facilitate career progression.”

Last month saw Tim Kirkman, Hachette Filipacchi’s recently installed head of sales, leave the company after only eight months amid rumours of a fall out with the company’s chairman, Kevin Hand. Kirkman’s high-profile appointment in November last year saw him take responsibility for advertising sales across Hachette’s magazine portfolio. However, he has now left the firm to pursue other interests (see Hachette Loses Sales Head Amid Rumours Of Bust-Up).
