Emap Raids TalkSPORT To Find Broadcast Innovations Head

Emap Advertising has appointed Adam Roland as head of its broadcast innovations division, with responsibility for driving the growth of non-spot revenue across its portfolio of radio brands.

The new role will see Roland lead a team of twelve covering sponsorship and promotions, supplier funded-programming and red button campaigns across Emap’s range of on-air brands. He will also focus on creating cross-platform solutions for clients spanning television and radio.

Roland joins Emap from talkSPORT, where he has been head of sponsorship and promotions for the last two years. He will report directly to broadcast sales director, Tim Bleakley, who believes the appointment will enhance Emap’s broadcast offering to agencies and clients.

Bleakley said: “Adam is a slick and experienced operator who comes to the role with significant experience. Emap is pioneering the development of national radio sales and is championing new and exciting ways for advertisers to use the format – Adam will play a key role in doing this.”

Roland added: “The radio medium is going through a sea-change unlike anything it has seen before and Emap is pioneering that change so I look forward to working with Tim again and championing national digital radio.”

Last month Emap revealed that David Pullan had left his position as strategy and marketing director at Channel Five to become world-wide managing director of FHM with responsibility to driving growth of the brand (see Emap Poaches Five’s Pullan For Top Job At FHM).
