The big message at the Ateme stand during IBC2026 (starting Friday) is the need for practical, integrated solutions rather than standalone products. Visitors can expect a focus on how cloud, SaaS, AI, low-latency streaming, immersive video and ad insertion (server-side and server-guided) combine to grow revenues.
An important sub-theme is European tech sovereignty, with the company flagging its contribution towards streaming workflows that can run entirely on European technology.
Ateme has partnered with the sovereign European cloud infrastructure provider Scaleway (part of the iliad Group) and Qvest, the media-focused consulting and systems integration provider, which also offers managed services.
Together they offer a way to launch streaming services without the need for non-European hyperscalers, and a path for existing services to migrate to sovereign European infrastructure. Qvest is ready to provide a complete streaming platform pipeline as a managed service, where required.
IBC demonstrations will show a complete OTT workflow running on sovereign European infrastructure, harnessing ingest, encoding and packaging through to content delivery, DRM, analytics, and front-end integration.
Ateme, Scaleway and Qvest say their solution responds to strategic incentives for European broadcasters to reduce dependence on non-European cloud providers. The solution also targets rights holders and other media organisations.
“The growing awareness and demand around digital sovereignty has moved beyond strategy,” according to Tobias Künkel, managing director at Qvest Engage, a subsidiary of Qvest Group (pictured above, centre).
“Now broadcasters need solutions that can be implemented. Together with Ateme and Scaleway, we are bringing production-ready sovereign OTT platforms to broadcasters that combine operational maturity with European sovereignty.”
Strategic priority
Rémi Beaudouin, chief strategy officer at Ateme (above, left), claims digital sovereignty is becoming a strategic priority for broadcasters.
