Emap Bags Golden Wonder For Cross-Media Deal

Emap Advertising and Starcom Motive have secured a £1.5 million cross-media deal with Golden Wonder to promote its Nik Naks snack brand across Emap’s range of Kiss and Kerrang branded media.

The four-month campaign will target 16 to 24 year-old consumers with a range of on-air sponsorship and promotions covering Kiss TV, Kerrang TV and The Hits, as well as Kiss 100’s Smooth Grooves and the Kerrang Show on the Big City Radio Network.

Magazine activity will include promotions in a range of titles including Mixmag, FHM and Kerrang. Directional banners, buttons and editorial teasers will also appear across six Emap websites, with SMS text alerts being sent across the Kerrang and Kiss databases.

Emap will provide all the on-pack prizes relevant to the Kiss and Kerrang brands, including CDs, DVDs, ring tones and magazine subscriptions. It will also offer tickets to Kiss club nights and VIP trips to see a range of music artists in the UK, Europe and the USA.

Commenting on the deal, Jane Kesley, Emap Advertising’s cross-media director, said: “As credible music brands across multiple platforms, Kiss and Kerrang are powerful media partners, providing value, endorsement and promotion of the on-pack activity in order to drive sales.”
Sam Pitt, media planner at Starcom Motive, added: “This deal creates a powerful and focused bespoke communication platform for Nik Naks which will expose new consumers to Nik Naks freaky personality and engage them via deeper interaction with the brand.”

Last week Emap chairman Adam Broadbent announced that the cross-media group is making ‘reasonable’ progress towards its full year goals with consumer magazine circulation revenues and advertising performing well.
