Aegis Buys JML For £10 Million

Aegis Logo Media and communications group, Aegis has bought 100% of the equity of business media planning and buying agency, Just Media Limited (JML), for £10 million.

JML was founded in 1995 and will bring clients including Adobe, Borland, Cognos, Compuware, MessageLabs and Seagate to Aegis.

Commenting on the acquisition, Robert Lerwill, chief executive officer of Aegis said: “The acquisition of JML will complement and further strengthen Aegis Media’s position in the UK business to business market. JML is a highly respected, professional B2B media agency with particular expertise in the technology sector.

He continued: “Combining JML with the market experience, tools and buying power of Carat Business will create many synergies and new opportunities that are expected to drive revenue growth and margin improvement, whilst continuing to deliver a market leading service to clients.”

Aegis is currently in the middle of a take over bid, with reports this morning claiming that French entrepreneur and chairman of Havas, Vincent Bollore, has raised his stake in Aegis Group PLC to 17.38% from 15.43% previously (see Bollore’s Stake In Aegis Reaches 15%).

At the end of last week, WPP confirmed its interest in Aegis saying that it is considering a bid for the company, with its main interest in the Synovate market research operation (see WPP Confirms Interest In Aegis Research Arm).

Interest surrounding Aegis was sparked by confirmation nearly three weeks ago that rival Publicis had tabled a bid for the firm, valuing it at around £1.8 billion (see Publicis Confirms Aegis Bid Rumours).
