ITV’s Doc Martin proved an irresistable draw to 7.8 million adults last night, with ITV’s light hearted drama outdoing BBC One’s more serious spy drama, Spooks.
Doc Martin, starring Martin Clunes, peaked with an audience of 7.9 million during its final 15 minutes, while Spooks averaged 5.5 million, peaking at 5.6 million in its concluding quarter-hour.
Elsewhere, Channel 4’s conclusion to two part documentary, Wanted: New Mum And Dad, failed to compete with either Doc Martin or Spooks, with an average audience of 1.9 million, whle Five fared even worse, with just 557,000 tuning in to new reality series, Dream Business.
Channel 4’s latest Gordon Ramsay programme, The F Word, performed better earlier in the evening, drawing an average of 2.2 million adults, while Five’s House attracted 1.3 million in its late evening slot.
