GCap Promotes Vallis As Network Sales Head

GCap Logo GCap Media has promoted Kirk Vallis to become its new head of network sales, replacing Ed Chalmers who was promoted to become head of agency sales last week (see GCap Promotes Chalmers To Head Of Agency Sales).

The new role will see Vallis take responsibility for selling GCap’s national networked products, including newslink and hit40uk. In his new position, Vallis will report to group sales director John McGeough.

Commenting on his appointment, Vallis said: “Interest from advertisers in effective national radio opportunities has never been greater, which makes this such an exciting time to be joining the Network team. The development of new national opportunities combined with the existing diversity that newslink and hit40uk already offer means that we now have something to offer every category of advertiser.”

Vallis’ move comes after GCap saw a number of its high-profile management figures leave the company in the run up to the Capital GWR merger. Among those who resigned were commercial managing director Linda Grant, who had been due to head up the new firm’s single sales house (see Capital And GWR Name Team For Single Sales House), and Mike Hope Milne, Capital Radio’s former commercial content director.

Peter Charlton, national sales director for the local radio group at GWR sales house, Opus, also left his post in the pre-merger run up, taking the role of national sales director at Viacom Outdoor in July (see Viacom Outdoor Raids GWR For Sales Chief).
