CN Radio Reshuffles Management At Lakeland

CN Radio has promoted Peter Fletcher to the position of managing director at Lakeland Radio, the company’s recently acquired radio station serving the South Lakeland area.

The move puts Fletcher in charge of the operation, which was acquired by CN radio last month as the company purchased the remaining 60% of its shares for an undisclosed sum (see CN Radio Buys Lakeland Radio).

The station has quickly established itself in the South Lakes area, since its launch in October 2001, with Fletcher rising from the position of station director after playing a key role in the development and success of the station since its inception 4 years ago.

Prior to joining Lakeland Fletcher worked for a number of radio stations in small, medium and large marketplaces throughout the UK.

The new MD will take up his role with immediate effect, as well as being appointed to the board of Lakeland Radio. Commenting on the promotion, Jon Hewson, managing director of CN Radio, said: “Peter has done a fantastic job with this radio station and I’m looking forward to working with him. His experience and track record will be of great benefit to our group.”

Fletcher added: “The team at Lakeland Radio have worked very hard to not only return a profit each year but also attract a loyal local audience. We adopted a ‘family’ mentality that meant everybody was involved in the decision-making and we all firmly believe that CN Radio will help Lakeland Radio continue its success for many years to come.”
