ITV Delivers Winning Dose Of Reality

Digital Set Top Box ITV rose to the top of the reality TV pile last night, although it was not the much-maligned Celebrity Love Island that brought good fortune, but outsider Ladette to Lady, which secured a peak of 5.8 million viewers to topple Channel 4’s Big Brother from the top spot.

Finishing just before the start of Big Brother, Ladette to Lady secured an average audience of 4.8 million and a viewing share of 22%, with the hour-long weekly series profiling the highs and lows of ten of the nation’s proudest ladettes as they attempt to become more ladylike.

The show was followed on ITV by Celebrity Love Island, going head to head with Big Brother at ten o’clock, but failing to surpass Channel 4’s offering, with a peak of 3.9 million, compared to Big Brother‘s 5.3 million.

Celebrity Love Island‘s average viewing of 3.7 million was also beaten by Big Brother, securing 4.18 million.

Ladette to Lady also trumped the BBC’s offering between nine o’clock and ten, with Murphy’s Law achieving a peak of 5 million, while Channel 4’s Make Me Normal peaked at 2.2 million in the same period. Five’s Presumed Innocent, staring Harrison Ford, attracted a comparatively meager peak of 1.3 million.
