ITV Crime Drama Blown Away By Krakatoa

ITV Logo BBC One scored a ratings victory last night, with fact-based drama, Krakatoa: The Last Days, seeing off competition from ITV’s crime drama, If I Had You.

ITV’s drama, staring Sarah Parish, drew just under 6 million adult viewers on average, securing a share of 28.23%. Krakatoa scored 6.2 million meanwhile, notching up a 27.97% share.

There were earlier ratings successes for ITV however, with long running drama Heartbeat notching up 8.7 million adults on average, while Coronation Street topped the nine million mark in the preceding half hour.

The return of Top Gear to BBC Two drew 4.2 million viewers to the channel last night, while Channel 4’s 50 Greatest One Hit Wonders proved popular, with an audience of 1.7 million on average.

Five’s film, Tears Of The Sun, recorded its largest audience of the evening, as 1.2 million tuned in, although the remainder of the broadcaster’s Sunday night schedule failed to top the one million mark.
