Revenues Rise For Researchers

Ipsos Logo Market-research organisation Ipsos, new owners of opinion-pollsters MORI, has announced revenue figures of €188 million (£128 million) for the first quarter of 2006. This represents a 31% increase on the same quarter last year and the highest quarterly figures in five years.

The 31% increase includes organic growth of just over 9%, but the impressive figure is due partly to ‘a very positive currency effect’, which contributed 7.1%, and the acquisition of three companies, including MORI, which contributed 14.6%.

Growth was strongest in developing markets, with 15% organic growth in the Asia-Pacific and Middle-East regions against 7% in both Europe and North America.

Although Ipsos recognises that currency effects will be less positive later in the year, the encouraging figures make the company confident of previous growth targets, including minimum consolidated revenues of €1 billion (£681 million) in 2007.
