ZenithOptimedia Claims Victory In MediaTel Group Sports Quiz

The annual MediaTel Group Charity Sports Quiz was staged last night at MediaTel Group’s Regent Street offices, with ZenithOptimedia (aka Banzai Bully’s Special Prize) defending their title impressively to finally win by over 20 points from the News of The World’s Fake Sheikhs, and a point further back Viacom Outdoor’s 20% Up Year on Year.

Teams from ids, News International, Chrysalis, the Evening Standard, talkSPORT, GCap Media and MediaTel Group were all a little further off the demanding pace.

The competition was immensely tight between the top three until the Zenith boys – Gareth Pugh, Chris Arnold, Pete Williams, Darren Berry and Iain Ogilvie – pulled off a staggering 19 out of 20 on a very tough football round and surged ahead by adding further “joker” points – finishing with 123 out of a possible 163 points.

The quiz evening raised over £700 for the two nominated charities (PHA and Scope) to add to the sum already donated by entrants to the online sporting predictions quiz – wrapped up this week by Dominik Cwojdzinski of Mediacom.

Reflecting on the ZenithOptimedia victory, team captain Gareth Pugh said: “On behalf of all the team I’d like to say what a pleasure it was to be able to compete with, and beat, some of the premier sporting brains in the industry… again!!. It was another great evening, and a brilliantly organised event as always, and hopefully much was done for two very good causes.To walk away as winners again is a bonus; but ultimately a good time was had (and would have been had regardless of the result!) by all.

“By the way, I know this sounds a bit geeky, but if you have a copy of the questions that you could send over, that’d be much appreciated – a lot of people have been asking about them, and I can only remember about three!!”
