BBC Wins As Viewers Glaze Over Stars In Their Eyes

Stars In Their Eyes Logo The BBC’s Strictly Dance Fever continued to perform well for the Corporation on Saturday night, flooring competition from ITV’s Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes with an average adult audience of 4.3 million.

The dancing showdown saw off ITV’s star singers, which drew 4.1 million on average for the commercial giant.

Elsewhere, BBC One’s long running medical drama Casualty notched up an average audience of 6.9 million, commanding a 34.51% share to beat ITV’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, which drew 4.9 million in the same time slot.

Channel 4 saw success with its screening of movie premiere Just Married meanwhile, as an average of 1.7 million adults tuned in. The broadcaster’s Deal Or No Deal continued to perform admirably earlier in the evening, drawing 3.7 million on average, and peaking at 4.4 million.

Five’s CSI:NY also continued its strong performance, with 2.6 million adults tuning in on average. A second episode of the detective franchise also saw strong audiences, as 1.8 million watched the programme, despite it being a repeat.
