IPC Bags Fresh For First Cross Publisher Sampling

Ideal Home Magazine IPC SouthBank is to bag a free copy of Fresh, the recipe and issue-driven food magazine with its next issue of Ideal Home magazine, driving cross readership between the two titles in the first instance of sampling from a rival publisher undertaken by IPC.

Explaining the move, Yvonne Ramsden, publishing director of Ideal Home, said: “Ideal Home and Fresh complement each other perfectly as they have similar readerships, sharing many common interests.

“This promotion offers Ideal Home readers a bumper package of two great magazines for the price of one – continuing our strategy of offering exceptional value every month.”

Neil Presland, publisher for Fresh owners Naked Media, added: “What a way to celebrate our first birthday and at such a core time for the food world. Food and the home are core for both readerships – it’s a match made in heaven.”

The sampling exercise will take place in Ideal Home’s July issue, hitting newsstands on June 6, including features on outdoor lighting, celebrating summer with outdoor living and dining as well as bathroom and kitchen makeovers.

The latest ABC results, released in February, revealed a 5.6% dip in sales for Ideal Home, which commands a circulation of 245,729 as the nation’s best-selling paid-for home interest title.
