Viacom Retains Wide-Ranging Irish Transport Rights

Viacom Outdoor Logo Viacom Outdoor Ireland has retained the contract for the Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company, giving the company control over around ninety 48 sheets, forty 6 sheets and 10 landmark bridge locations.

The contract, which will run for five years, was awarded to incumbent Viacom following a “competitive” tender process, with “stiff competition” from rival outdoor firms, Viacom said.

The company will now retain exclusive access to all static advertising space within NITHC properties, which include railway stations, bus stations, freeholds and several rail bridges.

Commenting on the win, Roy Walker, managing director of Viacom Outdoor Northern Ireland, said: “We are delighted once again to win the tender for the prestigious NITHC estate. This landmark portfolio underpins much of our roadside activity and keeps us at the forefront of outdoor advertising in Northern Ireland.”

Earlier this month the outdoor specialist announced a restructuring of its senior management team, following its loss of the contract for transit and rail operator CIE in January (see Titan Scoops CIE Account From Hopeful Viacom Outdoor).

The management reshuffle will see the poster firm boost its senior management to focus on growth, with Marie Lawlor appointed head of sales and Stewart Smyth as head of development. The company’s John Patchell will also be retained to work on special projects (see Viacom Outdoor Boosts Management After CIE Contract Loss).
