BBC Scores Drama Win With Life On Mars Finale

Life On Mars BBC One dominated prime time viewing last night, as 6.7 million adults tuned in on average to see the last in the series of Life on Mars, the Corporation’s time travelling detective show.

Facing off against the first part of ITV’s drama, Love Lies Bleeding, which drew 5.1 million on average, the BBC’s success rounds of an impressive run for Life on Mars, which has outperformed rivals consistently in recent weeks.

Channel 4’s The Real Dad’s Army notched up an average audience of 2.4 million in the same time slot, while Five’s The Real Rain Man drew 1.6 million as part of Five’s Extraordinary People season.

BBC Two saw its ratings return to their normal level following the conclusion of the Winter Olympics, with an average audience of 2.8 million for University Challenge providing the high point of its evening.
