ACP-NatMags Launches TV Listings Magazine

TV ACP-NatMag is launching a free TV listings magazine to be given away inside copies of its weekly titles Best and Real People.

The new magazine, TV Week, will be introduced into a market currently dominated by What’s On TV, TV Choice and Radio Times.

The combined circulation of Best and Real People was around 650,000 copies according to the last ABC figures (see ABC Results Jan-Jun 2007: Take A Break Stays Top Of Women’s Weeklies Amidst Sizeable Declines), which would put TV Week well behind the top titles in the sector.

IPC’s What’s on TV, had a circulation of around 1.4 million copies in the first six months of this year, whilst H Bauer’s TV Choice was just 30,000 copies behind the market leader (see ABC Results Jan-Jun 2007:TV Choice Closes Gap On What’s On TV).

However, TV Week would be ahead of the likes of TV Quick and TV Easy, which have circulations of around 225,000 and 285,000 respectively.

The 56-page title, based on the Australian TV Week magazine, includes full seven-day listings for terrestrial, satellite, cable and Freeview channels.

Drew Kirkland, ACP-NatMag group publishing director, said: “TV Week is being launched at a time of increasing demand for TV information. The expansion first of Sky and later of Freeview has created new demand for listings magazines.

“For all the development of electronic guides and newspaper supplements, millions of people throughout the UK want to plan their TV viewing and read all about their favourite programmes at their leisure.”
