TIOTI Founder Joins MediaTel ‘Future Of TV’ Seminar Panel

MediaTel Group Logo Paul Cleghorn, co-founder of TIOTI (Tape it off the Internet) will join the panel for MediaTel Group’s ‘Future of TV’ seminar next Tuesday in London.

Until early 2006, Paul ran boutique design agency Neuromantics, where he led R&D projects on broadband TV, social networking around TV and post-schedule TV EPG’s for the BBC as well as visual strategy projects for Nokia on “the Long Tail” and DRM.

TIOTI describes itself as a social media aggregator and one-stop source for TV content. www.tioti.com indexes over 75,000 TV shows and more than 500,000 episodes, and adds social tools letting users recommend shows to friends, discuss and see what their friends are watching.

The afternoon panel at the session will cover themes such as business models and the new communications mix for advertisers, as well as examining where IPTV fits and if funded programming is about to take off in the UK.

The panel includes Niku Banaie, managing partner at Naked; Peter Cowley, managing director of digital media at Endemol UK; Blake Chandlee, director of media sales, Yahoo! UK and Ireland and Rahul Chakkara, controller of BBCi.

In the morning session, traditional TV will be the focus. A panel consisting of Jim Marshall, chairman of Starcom Mediavest Group; Andy Barnes, sales director at Channel 4; Nick Bampton, managing director at Viacom Brand Solutions and media journalist Ray Snoddy, will cover areas such as the latest view on CRR, Virgin Media’s position in the industry and how viewers and advertisers see Google’s TV ambitions.
