Final Leg On Coastal Exploration Nets More Than 3 Million For BBC Two

Coast The final in the current series of Coast gained an average of almost 3.1 million adult viewers for BBC Two last night, beating the start of Jamie Oliver’s new cookery series by around a million viewers.

The final leg of Neil Oliver’s trek around Britain, taking in ‘honeymoon island’ Jersey, Guernsey, the islands of Les Ecrehous and back round to Dover, gave the channel a 16.1% audience share, whilst more than 2.1 million on average (11.7%) preferred Jamie At Home, on Channel 4 between 8pm and 8.30pm.

It was the drama of Holby City that won the most viewers in the 8pm to 9pm slot, however, with more than 5.4 million watching Ric and Thandie’s wedding eventually take place and Lord Byrne’s funeral ending with Joseph hitting Jac across the face, giving BBC One a 28.4% viewing share.

The rogue tradesmen on ITV1’s House Of Horrors lured an audience of 2.8 million, with the exposé giving the channel a 14.7% share.

Tuesday night’s 9pm slot was once again won by a BBC One repeat, with Waking The Dead attracting 3.8 million (18.8%), whilst Pierce Brosnan Bond film, The World Is Not Enough, brought a little over 2.9 million (14.9%) to ITV1.

Big Brother‘s nominations night on C4, which saw all remaining ‘Halfway Housemates’ up for eviction, as well as the twins by default, was seen by 2.9 million on average, a 14.4% share, whilst CSI: Miami on Five gained over 2.3 million (11.5%).
