Another Bad Night For Tycoon

Peter Jones The second instalment of ITV1’s business-themed reality show Tycoon fared no better than the first, with a peak of just 1.8 million adults (a 9.3% viewing share) tuning into the hour long programme last night.

The show, hosted by ex-Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones, was beaten by both terrestrial BBC channels as well as Channel 4 and Five, picking up an average of 1.7 million adults. This was a similar performance to last week, when it was the least watched show in the 9pm-10pm slot (see Tycoon Fails To Impress For ITV1).

Lenny’s Britain on BBC One was the top performer on the night at 9pm, with a peak of 3.8 million adults watching Brummie comedian Lenny Henry search the country looking for what makes us laugh.

Just behind Lenny was Gordon Ramsay’s F Word, where the vituperative chef once again cooked up a storm in the kitchen.

The Channel 4 show had a peak of 3.7 million adults and an average of 3.4 million (a 16.7% viewing share).

Also on at 9pm was Paris on BBC Two, which followed art historian Sandrine Voillet as she wallowed in the tempestuous history, immortal beauty and bohemian soul of the city.

The show had a peak of 1.9 million adult viewers and also managed to keep an average of 1.8 million adults hooked throughout its hour long running time.

On Five at 9pm was CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, where a peak of 3 million adults watched Grissom’s old friend Lady Heather almost meet a sticky end in a sordid wild-west sex game.
