Bauer Media’s Q magazine has appointed Matt Mason to the newly created role of senior editor as it gears up for an autumn redesign.
The magazine has also secured a string of contributing editors – including Miranda Sawyer, David Quantick and Billy Bragg – in time for the unveiling of its new look on September 27.
Mason is currently deputy editor of Zoo. In his new role he will take responsibility for managing and leading the magazine’s commissioning and production teams on a day-to-day basis.
Mason, who joins the title on September 22, will report into Q editor-in-chief Paul Rees, working alongside him and Q‘s new creative director Ian Stevens to help deliver content across the brand as a whole.
Paul Rees, Q editor-in-chief, said: “The forthcoming redesign will be the most comprehensive and striking one in the magazine’s history.
“The aim is to give Q all the requisite swagger and confidence of a market leading magazine, whilst at the same time setting it completely apart from the rest of the music market. I think it’s very much safe to say that people can expect something that’s both completely fresh and also entirely different.”
The latest ABC consumer magazine release comes out tomorrow, with NewsLine providing in-depth coverage of all the major sectors.
