Setanta Sports Free For New Top Up TV Subscribers

Top Up TV, the paid-for service available on Freeview, is to offer new customers Setanta Sports 1 for free for the 2008/2009 Barclays Premier League football season.

New subscribers will get access to live Barclays Premier League Games, England World Cup qualifying games (and home friendlies), the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Magners League rugby, US PGA Tour golf, Indian Premier League cricket, and world title boxing from the UK and US.

The move follows BT’s decision last month to offer Setanta Sports 1 for free as part of its three new viewing packages (see BT Vision Ties Up With Setanta).

Setanta Sports 1 is also available for free to viewers who subscribe to Virgin Media’s XL package.

Last month, Setanta released its football fixtures list for the first few months of the year, with more matches to be confirmed as the season progresses (see Football Schedule Kicks Off).
