Guardian And Telegraph To Raise Cover Prices

Coins The Guardian and Daily Telegraph are to raise their cover prices by 10p this weekend, following a recent increase by The Times.

The price of the Saturday Daily Telegraph is rise from £1.50 to £1.60, while the weekday edition will also go up by 10p, from 80p to 90p. The Sunday Telegraph will stay at its current price.

The Guardian will also be going up on Saturdays from £1.50 to £1.60, although the weekday paper will stay at its current price of 80p.

The most recent ABC figures, for July 2008, show that the Daily Telegraph now has a circulation of almost 858,000, while the Guardian‘s stands at just under 338,000 (see ABC National Newspaper Round-Up: July 2008).

The Times recently increased the cover price of its weekday edition to 80p, although the The Saturday Times will stay at £1.40 (see The Times Ups Its Cover Price).
