A peak of 7.1 million adults tuned in to the BBC One show, on for an hour at 9pm, easily beating the two-hour British Soap Awards over on ITV1.
The awards, celebrating the great storylines and acting that make soaps an integral part of our lives, were on from 8pm to 10pm and managed to grab a peak of 5.7 million adult viewers.
The Apprentice and the British Soap Awards dominated the evening’s viewing, with Dan Cruickshank’s Adventures In Architecture on BBC Two and Grand Designs Live on Channel 4 picking up peaks of 1.5 million and 1.3 million adults respectively.
On Five at 9pm was Al Capone And The Untouchables. A peak of 1.2 million tuned in to the gangster documentary.
