Strong Viewing Figures Continue For European Football Championship

Austria V Poland A peak of five million adult viewers tuned in to last night’s football match between Austria and Poland in the European Football Championship.

It was a close match, with Austria snatching a late goal in a 1-1 draw thanks to a controversial decision by the English referee, Howard Webb.

Over on Channel 4 at 9pm was the latest instalment of reality contest Big Brother, with a peak of 2.9 million adult viewers.

Over the course of its hour long running time, an average of 2.7 million adults watched the show, a 12.9% share of the audience.

Sci-fi action series Heroes on BBC Two at 9pm, had a peak of 2.4 million adults, an 11.5% share.

ITV1 meanwhile showed the powerful and sensitive documentary, Brothers and Sisters In Love, which had a peak of 2.7 million adults.
