Norton’s Return Gets 1.7m Viewers

Graham Norton The return of The Graham Norton Show on BBC Two had a peak of 1.7 million adult viewers in its 9pm slot last night.

The first episode in the new series featured Hollywood legends Tony Curtis and Kevin Bacon, and managed to get an 8% share of the audience between 9pm and 9.30pm.

Over on Five at 9pm, US medical show House grabbed a peak of 1.9 million, enough for it to beat Norton’s return.

It was well beaten by a repeat of police drama New Tricks on BBC One, with the show picking up a peak of 4.9 million adults.

On ITV1 at 9pm was Homes From Hell, which had a peak of 3.5 million adults and an average of 3.2 million stuck with it for its hour long running time.

Channel 4, meanwhile, screened documentary Sex, Lies And The Murder of Meredith Kercher. A peak of 1.1 million adults tuned in, a 5.2% share of the audience.
