Ashes Continues To Light Up BBC One

Ashes To Ashes Ashes to Ashes continued to reign supreme in the Thursday night 9pm to 10pm slot, with 5.6 million adults on average tuning in to the time travelling cop show spoof last night.

The Life On Mars follow-up, with a knockout ’80s soundtrack, gave BBC One a 25% viewing share in the timeslot, whilst almost four million (17.7%) preferred their cop drama a little less tongue in cheek, sticking with ITV1’s Trial and Retribution.

Over on Channel 4, a moving film about the lives of the people on a documentary maker’s street, My Street, was watched by under 2.1 million, giving the channel a 9.2% audience share at the time.

Meanwhile, the return of comedy sketch show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, from the stars of the ever popular Peep Show, was seen by more than 1.3 million (5.9%) between 9pm and 9.30pm on BBC Two, with just over a million (4.6%) staying with the channel for the Catherine Tate Show.

Earlier, it was The Bill that shone in the 8pm to 9pm timeslot, luring over 4.3 million adults on average. This represented a 20.2% share for ITV1, compared to BBC One’s 18.8% share (over four million) for Waterloo Road.

Masterchef drew over 3.2 million to BBC Two, whilst two episodes of Jamie Oliver’s cookery programme, Jamie At Home, pulled in a little under 1.7 million and around 1.8 million respectively.
