Future And Sky Movies Team Up For Movie Previews

Audience Future has announced a new partnership with Sky Movies to launch the UK’s first national movie preview event for film fans.

Future’s Total Film will partner with Sky Movies to present the inaugural ‘Total Film and Sky Movies Red Carpet Preview’.

The Total Film and Sky Movies Red Carpet Preview takes place on Wednesday March 19 at the ODEON Cinema, Leicester Square. The three hour show will be screened several times throughout the day and also be shown regionally across the UK to ten ODEON digital screens – allowing more than 5,000 film fans to attend the inaugural event.

The Total Film and Sky Movies Red Carpet Preview will be heavily promoted across Future’s print and online portfolios, as well as Sky Movies magazine, which hits over 4million homes across the UK each month.

Tickets for the event will be sold through odeon.co.uk and will also be publicised on-screen at ODEON cinemas and by a soon-to-be-announced roster of event media partners.

Simon Maxwell is group publisher for Future’s Film portfolio, said: “This event is the first of its kind in the UK and I’m delighted to announce Sky Movies as our principle partner in the first year. Together, Total Film and Sky Movies are putting on a very special event for those who are as passionate about movies as we are.

“By tapping into the desire to see early footage, we can build excitement for the biggest releases of 2008. The movie awards season is already overcrowded, so with the Red Carpet Preview we are delivering an event which drives interest in film, translating into box office success.

“The studios are coming up with some fantastic exclusives, and with the support of ODEON we are able to let moviegoers in the regions share in the experience. The Red Carpet Preview will be a hot ticket and is the first of Total Film’s major brand initiatives in 2008.”

Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies & Sky Box Office, said: “We know from the success of Comic-Con in the US that there is huge consumer appetite for movie preview conventions. With all the studios on board, two massive film brands at the helm and a few surprises up our sleeve, this will be 2008’s must-see ticket for UK film fans.”
